How to Choose YOU!

Everyone’s decision to start up their fitness journey starts with one powerful and important decision – choosing yourself! Whether you are just starting up and wanting to make healthy decisions in your life, or you’ve been stepping into this new routine for a while now, the most important aspect of this decision is stepping into a new mindset of making yourself a priority. 

While most look at the gym as just “lifting weights” and “getting your sweat on”, it’s so much more than that. By going to the gym, you’re not only pushing yourself to achieve your goals, but you are also creating a sanctuary for yourself. A sanctuary of growth for both the mental and physical. This will also boos your confidence – a road of self-love and encouragement. 

Now you may be asking yourself, “how do I choose me every time I step into a new day?” Together let’s look at 5 ways you can truly step into the new you and choose yourself on this new exciting journey! 

#1 Be intentional

Set some intentional goals for yourself that are achievable and make you feel excited and motivated. It can be anything from moving more consistently, lifting heavier, or building up your stamina. By setting these goals you are making a new mindset of habit building to keep yourself motivated.

#2 Celebrate your wins

Celebrating wins is an amazing way to keep yourself motivated and excited about your new journey! Progress isn’t always a number on a scale or new clothing size, it’s also showing up and completing your workout, feeling stronger and building your endurance, or even showing up on a day you really didn’t want to go to the gym. Your resilience and consistency is more than worthy of a celebration!

#3 Recovery is key

While some days you may want to push past your limits and keep going, it is so important to listen to your body. Really prioritize your rest and make sure you give your body time to recover. Recovery time is just as important as the time you put in at the gym.

#4 Progress not perfection

Make sure you aren’t comparing your journey and progress to anyone else. Every step and stride you take to continuing putting yourself first is a win within itself. You decide what wins look like for you; your journey is YOURS so own it and love it along the way!

#5 Positive mindset goes a LONG way

Just as the title of this step says, positivity goes such a long way. Take pride in all the steps you make, milestones you pass, and workout sessions you complete. Going about this journey with a positive mindset is going to make you not only stay excited about this process, but it’s going to make you absolutely love showing up for yourself along the way too.

Now just remember the only competition you have is with the version of yourself that started this journey. Each day is a new milestone of you building a new, stronger, more confident you. Keep transforming your body and mindset and just remember… choose you!
